Is Rika a bad person? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! However, I would first like to mention that there will be spoilers for Mystic Messenger in this post. Since Rika's backstory is rather spoiler-heavy, I'll try to keep the spoilers to a minimum. So, proceed with caution! Now then, on with the post! So, is Rika really a bad person? Even though not much is known about her in the main story of the game, more was revealed in the secret after endings and the Another Story routes. Because of this, Rika has become a widely disliked character. She is often seen as a bad person, and her underhanded and manipulative behavior couldn't be overlooked by most fans. However, does this mean she's a bad person? Despite the things she has done, Rika herself never realized her actions were wrong. She thought she was doing her best and creating a perfect life for everyone who would follow her. Her views on life and the choices she made were very warped, even if she didn't realize it. Along with this, her past revealed that she herself was also a victim of manipulation; which may have added to her warped view of things. But, this doesn't excuse her behavior. Even if she was manipulated or mentally ill, it doesn't mean she had to choose the path she did. Although she may not entirely be a bad person, she isn't a good person, either.
