Why are cute genderless characters popular in Japan? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Although it seems a little oddly specific, cute genderless characters are actually a subcategory in Japan. Things like the Pokemon Ditto or Gudetama the lazy egg tend to be more popular in Japan. But why is this? Well, it's actually because they're made without genders to make them more relatable. If something isn't specifically a male or female, it makes them much easier for people to relate to. Along with this, even some games do this with their protagonists so it's more immersive. I think this makes a lot of sense, because it makes it easier for people of all backgrounds to enjoy and relate with the characters. It also means the cute little characters can wear or do anything they want without anyone complaining. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic.
