Would Zen still be narcissistic if he was raised differently? Well that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! There will be some spoilers for Mystic Messenger in this post though, so proceed with caution! Now then, on with the post! So, Zen's narcissism has been talked about quite a bit throughout the fandom. Although some fans see it as annoying, it's still a big part of his character. But, would he still be narcissistic if he was raised differently? When Zen was younger, his mother used to tell him he was ugly so he wouldn't consider himself handsome when he got older. Although this could've potentially created some anxieties instead, his older brother often told him that he actually was handsome. However, Zen's narcissism could have been easily avoided if his mother had told him that he was handsome, but to be humble about it. Even though Zen often compliments his looks in the chatroom, it's most likely because he had such a difficult upbringing when he was younger. It could also be because of all of the compliments he received while he was growing up, but this alone wouldn't have caused his narcissistic nature. Because of this, I think he could have been a more humble person if he had a different childhood while he was growing up. These are mostly just my thoughts on this topic though.
