3, 2, 1, post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Cozy Grove. I talked about this game yesterday, but I wanted to talk about it again because a lot of people compare it to Animal Crossing; so I wanted to give my opinion on that. I've played Cozy Grove for a couple days now, and I can see the similarities. However, it's pretty much entirely different. Of course you can craft, donate, upgrade your tent to a house, and fish. But the crafting system and resource collecting is a lot different, and the donation system isn't for a museum, but an archive that will reward you for every item unlocked. The house is pretty similar, but the decorating is different as well. The fishing is also way easier in Cozy Grove. You pretty much only have to aim and then reel it in, and it's so easy to catch a fish because they'll swim to your lure even if they're pretty far away. There are also a lot of daily quests in Cozy Grove that have to be completed to further the story. The characters and atmosphere is also pretty different for Cozy Grove. The people on the island are almost all ghost bears, and this is a game based on helping spirits. Despite this, it isn't scary or unsettling at all. Although I can see a few similarities between this game and Animal Crossing, I don't think there are nearly enough to write it off as just a copycat or clone. In fact, there are barely any similarities that I've found so far, and I think it was more likely the developers just liked Animal Crossing and wanted to add a few of the mechanics to their own game. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I recommend checking out Cozy Grove because it really is a very cute game. As always, I hope you all enjoyed this blog post!
