It's post time! I've talked about the gender swapping in Fate/Grand Order a few times before. It bothers me a lot, but it also bothers other fans. This series is based on real historical and mythological characters, so gender swapping them is confusing and irritating. But more than this, there are male characters who look feminine, so it's easy to assume they were just gender swapped again. It's hard to keep up with everyone's proper gender when everything is so inconsistent. There are male spirits in female bodies, gender swapped characters, and males that look like females. But there are also some females that look like males. Without owning them to see their profiles, it's easy to get confused or lose track of who is what in this game. It wouldn't be a problem if they kept things accurate to what they were based on, but they don't. It's really frustrating and makes things more complicated than they have to be. It gets worse when they add characters like Lady Avalon. Merlin was already historically accurate, it's King Arthur they changed. But instead of just adding King Arthur, they added a female version of Merlin too. It's like a slap in the face to everyone who's upset with this series because of the gender swapping. Of course most of these things can't be fixed now, but they can at least change it in future series. Regardless, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic.
