Is anime mainstream now? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Anime was once considered a very niche genre. But as time went on, it gradually gathered more and more fans. Now, it's more common than ever to find merchandise in stores and advertisements for it outside of the anime community. There are even some people who pretend to like anime just to seem cooler. However, despite popular belief, anime isn't yet mainstream. Stores who carry anime or manga usually only have small sections that only feature very popular series. Along with this, the community and people who enjoy these things are still largely seen as nerdy degenerates. After all, one of the most common jokes outside of the anime community is that anime fans are all fat hermits who never leave the house. That isn't exactly a flattering image, especially since it's not true. It isn't common enough to be easily found, and you have to know where to look to find merchandise for the things you like. That doesn't exactly sound mainstream. Even if some series get really popular, it's never fully enough to get anime out of that little box it's in. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!
