It's time to post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about anime merchandise. The high prices of anime merchandise has become a common issue within the anime community, so I wanted to talk about it today. Although expensive figurines and other things have always been a part of being an anime fan, the other types of merchandise is quickly becoming unaffordable as well. Things like plushies and clothes are getting incredibly expensive, and it's becoming difficult for anime fans to keep up. This is a problem, because fans are the ones buying the merchandise. A hundred dollars for a figure kind of makes sense, but fifty dollars for a plushie is insane. Plushies aren't the only things that are fifty dollars though, since most hoodies and even some t-shirts can be this expensive as well. With the rising prices, eventually only the fans with more money to spare will even be able to afford to buy the merchandise, which will cause the prices to go up even more to meet the production costs. Of course fan-made products have always been a bit more expensive than official products, but that's because more work usually goes into them. But charging so much money for mass-produced products is such a bad idea because it'll lead to a loss of money in the long-run. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I just wanted to talk about this because I've noticed the prices of official anime merchandise have gotten pretty high recently. Regardless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!
