It's post time! In recent years, games where you can build, decorate, or create things have seen a sudden rise in popularity. A lot of them are cute games as well, and they often have a cozy atmosphere. Why is this? Well, it isn't actually just these types of games that are more popular. If you really look at it, it's actually games where you have full control. It's nice to play games freely with no forced stories or mandatory actions. Even games like Genshin Impact have added places where you have full control, like in the Serenitea Pot. It's becoming more and more clear that players just want to play sometimes. I think having this full control over a space helps players feel safe and in control, while still giving them the type of escapism only games can bring. I think this makes sense with how uncertain the world can be, and I also think this means games like this will only increase in popularity over time.
