It's post time! Many Pokemon fans love mega evolutions. They're cool, temporary, and now there are more of them than ever. But in the Pokemon world, mega evolving a Pokemon is actually a bad thing. Not only does it make them too powerful, but it's also very painful for the Pokemon. This is mentioned in several Pokedex entries in the games, so I'm surprised it's never mentioned in the anime. If mega evolution really is so painful, I don't understand why it's treated like a normal thing for Pokemon to go through. It's even encouraged, even in the games. Maybe the creators thought this detail would make players not want to use mega evolutions anymore, so they've decided to bury it. I just think it's odd to add this and then not do anything with it.
