It's post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about teru teru bozu dolls. I've talked about these before, but I really love these things. For those of you who don't know, teru teru bozu are Japanese dolls that are used to ward off the rain. They're hung up either outside, or by the window. It's common to see multiple of them, as well. Teru teru bozu dolls are heavily associated with rain, but they're actually hung up to get rid of the rain. However, some say that if you want rain, you can hang them upside down instead. It isn't clear exactly what they're based on, but they resemble little ghosts. They can be made of tissue paper, or fabric, and they're traditionally white. It's common to see them even now, so they'll occasionally appear in anime during rainy day episodes. They're a fun and simple craft, so they're a good way to keep children occupied on rainy days. As always, here's a picture of some teru teru bozu dolls from Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid so you all can see what they look like. Enjoy!
