What's the difference between mainline Pokemon games and other Pokemon games? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! There are a lot of different Pokemon games, but not all of them are considered to be part of the main canon. Pokemon games are divided into two categories, mainline and spinoff. Mainline games are part of the core series. They have lore, new Pokemon, a main protagonist, a rival, and all of the things you'd expect from a Pokemon game. Spinoff games are different. They're games that take place in the Pokemon world, but they don't have anything to do with the main story. These games are usually centered around fighting, adventures, or just interacting with Pokemon in different ways. They're fun, but they don't have anything to do with the mainline games. Some fans don't know the difference between these games, but it becomes a bit obvious after you play enough Pokemon games.
