It's time for yet another new blog post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about what it means when a game is inspired by another game. Many fans have encountered this. They find a game they like, try it out, and it's really similar to another game they've played. Some people see this and assume it's a rip off. But it's not! Being inspired by another game to create your own doesn't make it a rip off. Instead, it means the original game inspired someone to make their own game. There are similarities, but they aren't identical. These types of games will always have their own mechanics, characters, and stories. Along with this, the creator will often credit the original at some point if they were inspired by something else. There's nothing wrong with a game inspiring someone else, and there's actually a lot of creators who were inspired by others they looked up to. When a game inspires something new, it can create something amazing. Because of this, games that are similar to another bigger game shouldn't automatically be written off as a rip off, because sometimes the creator just really loved the original.
