He fills in as a Soul Reaper for Rukia, who had her powers weakened. Ichigo has strong powers that allow him to see spirits and hollows, which he had even before he became a substitute Soul Reaper. As a Soul Reaper, he helps lost souls and hollows move on to the Soul Society. As a human, Ichigo goes to school and helps his family with the hospital they own.
