For today's blog post, I will be talking about the Duel Monsters cards that appear in the original English dub of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime. For those of you who don't know, the cards in the original English dub for the show were heavily altered. This is most likely because 4Kids didn't want to translate the descriptions of all of the different cards. However, some cards were also censored, which isn't a very big surprise. Instead of translating the descriptions of the cards, all of the text was removed. The text was then replaced with enlarged versions of the attack and defense stats of the monsters. This did cause a few inconsistencies in the show, but the cards have become a very well-known part of the show. In fact, the English dub versions of the cards became so popular that some of the fans have created perfect replicas of them. Because of this, these cards have become very easy to find. As a little bonus, I will be including the original Japanese version and the English dub version of the Dark Magician card below as an example so you guys can see what they look like.
