The blog post for today will be about the Alolan form of Sandshrew from Pokémon. The Alolan Sandshrew is an ice/steel-type Pokémon, and it is the pre-evolution of the Alolan form of Sandslash. Sandshrew was originally found in deserts, but frequent eruptions from nearby volcanos forced them to migrate. They ended up moving to snowy mountains, which forced them to adapt to their new climate. The ice shell covering the Alolan Sandshrew's body is hard like steel, which makes it excel in terms of defense. However, the shell makes it so Sandshrew is no longer able to curl up in a ball. It is also a lot heavier and slower because of it as well. But, the claws on its hands and feet make it easier for the Alolan Sandshrew to walk around on ice without slipping. When it wants to move across the ice faster, it slides across on its stomach.
