Why do villagers give you DIY recipes you already know in Animal Crossing New Horizons? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! For those of you who don't know, each day one of the villagers on your island will stay inside to craft or cook. Talking to them while they're busy will get them to give you the recipe they're currently working on. However, if you already know the recipe, they'll comment on you already knowing it before giving you the recipe anyways. So, why do they still give you the recipe if you already know it? Well, it's actually so you can share the recipe with others who may be on your island. If you have no one to give it to, you can just sell the recipe card. Personally, I think it's a little irritating that they still give you the card. Recipe cards don't sell for very much, and you'll still be given the card even if everyone on the island already has the recipe. It's a lot of unnecessary dialogue for them to even acknowledge you knowing the recipe if the outcome will always be the same. I don't mind the extra recipe cards if you can just sell them, but I kind of wish there wasn't so much extra dialogue for if you already knew the recipe.
