Why were shows like Invader Zim and My Little Pony popular in the anime fandom? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Neither of these shows are anime, but in the earlier days of the anime community it was common to see them anyways. People would often make anime fan art of these shows, and they would often be included with anime. This is especially surprising because these shows are nothing alike. However, Invader Zim, My Little Pony, and anime were all popular in the scene and emo communities. Because of this, these things, and even other things like Homestuck, would all be grouped together in the same areas. This is why you can still sometimes find things for Invader Zim, My Little Pony, and Homestuck being labeled as anime or scene despite having no relation to anime.
