What is a visual novel? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Although visual novels aren't strictly anime related, many visual novels are done in the anime art style. As the name suggests, a visual novel is a story-based game that usually follows a set path. Although certain things can change based on the options you choose, it normally doesn't change the main story very much. These games often have multiple different endings, and dating sims are usually visual novels. A few examples of visual novels are Hatoful Boyfriend, Mystic Messenger, and Obey Me. Since I've talked about visual novels quite a few times on this blog, I wanted to do a post explaining what they were; even if it was already kind of obvious.
