It's post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Zen's narcissism in Mystic Messenger. There will be spoilers, though. First of all, each RFA member in the game has one main thing that represents them. Yoosung is a struggling college student who's trying to escape reality, Jaehee is extremely overworked, Jumin is cold because of his upbringing, V is closed off due to grief, and 707 is hiding behind a mask so others don't see his sadness. As for Zen, he's a narcissist. But just like with the others, there's more than just that. Zen is actually just overly praising himself because of his upbringing. His narcissism is a product of bad parenting, and low self-esteem. His confidence was actually shattered long ago, which means he really just wants people to notice him. His surface-level narcissistic behavior was secretly caused by his mother's constant insults. As soon as he realized he was actually handsome, he wanted to make up for lost time. However, now his looks are all people notice. This just makes him more insecure, since he really wants people to notice his talent. This all creates a repeating cycle of unneeded narcissistic behavior, which only persists because of all of the shallow compliments people give him. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!
