Are Jessie and James in love in Pokemon? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Out of the whole Pokemon anime series, the longest standing ship in the fandom is Jessie and James. However, I don't think they're in love. Many people argue that they are married in the manga adaptation, but that version is different from the anime. In the anime, they seem to just be close friends. Even the Japanese voice actors recently said that they believe Jessie and James are just friends. Of course that doesn't mean this is true, but Team Rocket works well as a team because Jessie, James, and Meowth all work together. I don't think they would work as well if Jessie and James were together. Since there aren't many shows where men and women are just friends, Jessie and James are also pretty good representation of a nice platonic relationship. Sometimes a man and a woman are just friends, and their genders shouldn't decide if they get to be friends or something more. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic.
