3, 2, 1, post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Ash being removed from Pokemon. For those of you who don't know, the Pokemon anime has decided to move on from Ash and Pikachu. After many seasons, movies, and years with the duo, they have finally been retired. Despite the fact that many fans joke about Ash's everlasting youth and sometimes even say they're sick of him, I think retiring him wasn't the best idea. Pokemon has been around for a very long time now, and many of the fans who grew up with it are still fans to this day. Taking away the only constant things of the entire series is bound to drive people away. I understand wanting to gain new younger fans, but you shouldn't drive away your old fans in the process. I personally think it would have been a better idea to age Ash up, or create a separate series away from him. The creators recently said that Ash and Pikachu are still out in the Pokemon world having adventures off-screen, but that doesn't really do anything for the fans. A lot of people were very upset about this decision. It's hard to say how long this choice will even last with so many people rejecting it. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I just wanted to talk about it because it's been a while since the first announcement of Ash and Pikachu being retired, and quite a few fans are still upset about it.
