It's post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about the problem with shipping in the Vocaloid fandom. Shipping is very popular in every fandom, so it isn't out of the ordinary for this to occur in the Vocaloid fandom as well. But the problem with this is their ages. Some Vocaloids have canon ages, and this makes shipping difficult; but not impossible. The issue comes from those who ignore this fact. Many fans ignore their ages completely and come up with new ages for them. This is a bit ridiculous, since not all of them have canon ages. So why change the ages of those who do? There's no reason for this. This happens occasionally with anime, but not as often as it does with Vocaloids. Shipping young Vocaloids with clearly older Vocaloids seems very inappropriate, regardless of if someone claims they're older. Everyone knows how old the characters really are, which makes the ships look pretty bad. This is especially bad with Vocaloids like Rin, Len, and Miku; who are officially 14 and 16 years old. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I wanted to talk about this because I noticed some fans excused inappropriate shipping just because the ships looked cute. These things still reflect on real life, regardless of how small or meaningless it may seem. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!
