Are Japanese cartoons that don't use the anime art style still considered anime? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Throughout the years, there have been a few Japanese animated movies or series that didn't use the anime art style. Some people choose to just call them cartoons instead because of this. However, I think it also makes sense if they're still called anime. Even though the term has been used for a specific art style for a long time, it wasn't created for that art style. Anime was originally just animation from Japan, regardless of what it looked like. I think this is how it should stay. Even if other animated things from different places are starting to also be called anime, it was originally Japanese animation. That's why I think it should continue being used for all Japanese animation regardless of the art style. It's important to remember why words were made and what they originally described, which means all animation from Japan should still be anime even if people associate it with a specific art style now. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!
