It's New Year's Eve! That means tomorrow is the new year. As always, Animal Crossing New Horizons is hosting a New Year countdown in the plaza on the island. You can get special New Year's hats from Tom Nook, and Isabelle will give you a light stick if you talk to her. Along with the regular New Year's countdown, the official Nintendo Island is giving away custom designs to celebrate the coming year. The official island is called Ninten Island, and you can get the custom designs from the island, or from the custom designs portal. It's post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Mofusand. Mofusand is a group of cute cats. They're very popular, and the merchandise can easily be found. One of the most popular cats from this series is one that wears a shark onesie. Although I don't know very much about this, I've seen these cats often when looking at anime merchandise. However, recently an official animation has been released on YouTube. Fans are really excited about this new animation, especially since Mofusand has been out for a while now. I'm sure a lot of anime fans have already seen Mofusand characters by now, even if they don't know what it's called. Why are anime fans getting tired of seeing girl characters? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! When anime was less popular, attractive girl characters were often used to attract men into the fandom. But as the fandom grew, it gained more diverse fans. There are a lot more straight women and gay men now than there was before, so a lot of people are starting to get sick of seeing women everywhere. A once clever strategy is now driving people away. No matter how many various designs are used for the girls, it'll still alienate at least half of the fanbase. Even non-binary characters often turn out to be biological girls, which can feel like a betrayal to people who thought or hoped it would be a boy. Of course there are series that have mostly boys, but even those usually have a lot of inappropriate scenes; which makes it difficult to enjoy. Although there's usually something for everyone when it comes to anime, sometimes people just want to be able to like the same thing everyone else likes. We shouldn't just have to accept that there will be a lot of inappropriately dressed women jumping all over the screen all the time. I think if this continues, anime will once again go back to being mainly just straight men. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. New day, new post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Star Fragment Trees from Animal Crossing New Horizons. These special trees don't exist within the game today, but they were originally hacked items that made it so star fragments could be put on the trees. This is because the game originally didn't have a specific item list for what could go on trees, so people would hack the trees to hold star fragments instead of bells or fruit. This continued on for a while, until a bunch of players started reporting others for hacking the game. The bug was quickly patched, and the trees were destroyed forever. This is a good example of people ruining it for everyone else, but it also just shows how little the creators of the game cared about the fans. People loved these trees. But instead of making it official in any way, they just got rid of them. It would've been easy to add these trees, since the bug was already there. Instead, they chose not to. It really made a lot of fans angry, and some people even stopped playing altogether. Maybe someday these trees will be officially added to the game. But, I doubt it. It's post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about the problem with Animal Crossing New Horizons. This game has been popular ever since it was released. But even though there's often new players, players also don't usually go back to it. Why is this? Well, there's just nothing to do. Everything repeats. Seasonal items are the same every year, the daily tasks are the same, the holidays and events are the same, and the available clothes and items you can buy are repetitive. Even if you don't own everything in the game yet, you almost never see fresh items because the same ones keep repeating instead. This game makes it feel like you've finished it in just a year. Of course, it'll be getting an update in a month, so this problem is close to being solved. I just wanted to talk about why so many people left so soon after the game waa popular. It is a good game, and I often still find things to do in it, but it can also get really repetitive after a while. Regardless, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Why do some anime characters wear capes? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! I think the most well-known cape-wearing character is Umaru-Chan from Himouto Umaru-Chan, and it isn't too unusual to see otaku characters or reclusive characters wearing a cape. This seems weird, but it isn't really. These aren't regular capes, they're wearable nap blankets. These special capes are much softer than regular capes because they're actually secretly blankets. Otaku characters or reclusive characters wear these so they can stay warm while gaming or watching tv. You can actually buy real life blanket capes that look like ones found in anime, and I'm not referring to cosplay ones either. It's Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! For this year's post, I'll be talking about the Pokemon Delibird. Now, I decided to talk about Delibird today because this Pokemon is pretty clearly based on Santa. It prefers the cold, and its tail resembles a bag. It's even called the delivery Pokemon. But instead of presents, Delibird carries around food and gives it to anyone who needs it. This Pokemon has become really closely associated with Christmas, which is a good thing because it's practically the Christmas Pokemon. Usually when people start looking for festive Pokemon, Delibird is one of the first ones mentioned. I'm not entirely sure why a Pokemon based on Santa was ever created, but it's still fun for the season. I'd like to see more holiday Pokemon in the future, as well. It's Christmas Eve! But it's also Toy Day! Toy Day is a holiday celebrated on Christmas Eve every year. It's similar to Christmas, and you can participate any time during Christmas Eve, all the way until five in the morning tomorrow. During this event, you can help Santa's helper, Jingle. First, you have to bring him three Festive Wrapping Papers, which each require a blue ornament, red ornament, and gold ornament to craft. After this, you'll receive a set of Toy Day stockings to hang on your wall in your house. Then you can help Jingle again by delivering presents to all of your villagers. You'll receive more rewards after this, and then you can give your villagers your own gifts. They have to be wrapped, and you'll receive Toy Day toys from your villagers in return. This holiday is pretty simple compared to others, but it's still fun to participate anyways. And if you hang your stockings, be sure to check them tomorrow! You may find a surprise. What time is it? Post time! For today's blog post, I will once again be talking about indie games. For those of you who don't know, indie games are independent games. They're usually made by one person or a small team. Now that they've become more mainstream, people are creating games more often than ever. They're usually visual novels, but sometimes there will be RPGs as well. They're often in the anime art style, too. Indie games are usually free to play, so they're good for gamers on a budget. I highly recommend looking into games like this on places like Steam and Itch.io. It's easy to find them, and sometimes there are some real gems. Independent creators can always use support, so looking into these games instead of the big name ones helps support a small creator. However, keep in mind these are made by regular people. So if you contact the creators, remember to be understanding and respectful. It takes small creators a lot longer to release updates, chapters, and sequels, and rushing them will only slow down the process. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Why do people dislike anime movies based on series? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Of course, I don't mean standalone anime movies like Studio Ghibli films, since those usually go over pretty well. I'm talking about the movies that are based on series. It almost always happens. An anime runs for a while, people like it, it becomes mainstream, and then it gets a movie and people don't like it. Why is this? Well, it's because the movies usually don't matter at all. They're usually just filler, and the characters never show up later in the series. They don't even usually mention what took place in the movie ever again. It's just a standalone story that's pretty much just made for money, and it shows. Even if it's animated as well as ever and the story is good, you can just tell it was made to make money. This makes it hard to watch, especially if you know that ultimately it's a waste of time. Some movies do go over well, but that's usually the ones that tie into the series. Then again, other people complain about the fact that not everyone is able to see the movies too, so I guess you can't please everyone. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. 3, 2, 1, post time! Recently the first season of Twisted Wonderland has ended. I won't be talking about the episodes, to avoid spoilers. However, I think the story of Twisted Wonderland works extremely well in an anime format. The characters, world, and story are already very detailed, so seeing it in the anime is amazing. You can really see how the characters interact with their world and each other in ways that couldn't be shown in the game. Some of the scenes are much more lively than I expected, and some of them are even kind of scary. I already really liked the game, but the anime is something else entirely. I really recommend this anime for fans of the game. But, keep in mind it was made for the fans of the game, so new fans may be a bit lost. This is also a small thing that most people may have missed, but the English version of the game has always watered down the characters a bit by censoring the swearing, even though it was never that bad. But, I'm pleased to announce the English dub of the anime does not do this. It's a small thing, but it really helps them feel like actual teenagers, young adults, and adults; as opposed to the English version of the game using silly fake swears that feel really out of place, especially if you can understand Japanese and you can tell they're swearing anyways. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I know this one is a bit longer than my usual posts, but I hope you all still enjoyed it anyways!

It's post time! Today's blog post will be about the personalities in Animal Crossing New Horizons. For those of you who don't know, Animal Crossing villagers have set personalities that they share, and they're divided by gender. However, I think this is very limiting. There already aren't a lot of personalities to pick from, so limiting them by gender just makes things even less diverse. I say this because there's a few villagers who were given personalities that don't match their designs because of their gender. I think the best example of this is Sasha. He looks like he'd be a peppy villager because of his design. Peppy villagers often talk about music, videogames, and pop culture. I think this would suit him really well. But because he's a male villager, they made him lazy instead. I'm sure there's quite a few examples of this, but there's too many villagers to know them all. I think it would be fun to see a girl jock, a snooty boy, and other villagers with different personalities. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd be interested in this, either. It's disappointing that we'll probably never see this, but I hope it can happen one day. There's so many more possibilities if the creators stop dividing personalities by gender. I think this is interesting, since it opens up the possibility of even more unique Pokemon. Pokemon based on stars, planets, galaxies, and other things like this could be really interesting to see. They could be beautiful if they're designed with space-themed patterns, too. I think more space Pokemon could be really cool to see, and I'd love to see this being explored more in the future. Will Disney start selling Twisted Wonderland merchandise? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! For Twisted Wonderland fans, one of the most frustrating things is the merchandise. As of right now, official Twisted Wonderland merchandise only exists in Japan. This is because the game isn't as popular in America. In fact, hardly anyone knows about it compared to more mainstream games. But this is slowly changing now that the anime has finally been released. They even got English voice actors for the dub after years of fans asking for it for the game. So, will they finally start selling merchandise in America? The answer is, maybe. It really depends on how well the anime does. Obviously it's already been greenlit for several more seasons, so we just have to wait and see if it takes off. Personally I hope it does just so I can get Twisted Wonderland merchandise without the price gouging in-between. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Why were people so upset about the AI images that were based on Studio Ghibli? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! For those of you who don't know, AI art is trained by getting data from human made art and then recreating it. This is why people don't like when others use AI art. But it's more troubling with things like Studio Ghibli. Studio Ghibli is known for the heart and soul that's been put into it. It's different when someone creates art based on Studio Ghibli, because that artist is still putting their heart, time, and effort into the piece they're creating. But AI doesn't do that. It's just a cheap imitation. It's an insult to the original art it's stealing from. That's why so many people were against it. I understand not everyone can draw as well as others can. So if you want to use AI art personally, it's not as bad. However, I do recommend learning to create things on your own. It's much more rewarding and it looks a lot better, in my opinion. It's post time! But first, there will be minor Pokemon spoilers in this post. So, proceed with caution! Now then, let's get on with the post! Recently the mega evolution for the Pokemon Meowstic has been revealed. Firstly, I've already seen an article say this is the very first "multi-gendered" Pokemon. It's not. Mega evolving doesn't magically make a Meowstic change genders like a weird magical transition. Instead, I'm sure blending the two versions for the mega evolution was probably just so they didn't have to design two separate forms. It's lazy, but that's probably the entire reason. The mega evolution is also likely referencing real cats who have split coat colors, which often have different colored eyes as well. These cats have become quite popular on the internet, so it makes sense for a Pokemon to be made based on them. Obviously a mega evolved Meowstic will keep its original gender because mega evolution is a temporary state that doesn't affect a Pokemon's regular biology. I really think it's just a way to combine the two forms so they don't have to make two different mega evolutions. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Even though Ja-Ru is an American brand, they have a line of squishies that are based on Japanese Kawaii culture. The line is literally called Kawaii, and the toys look like cute Japanese ones. However, they aren't very popular. Not many people know about them, and they don't really show up in searches either. Even though I own one of the Dough Boyz Kawaii Squishies, I couldn't find a picture or any mention of any of them. It's a bit disappointing, since I do like the one I own. Maybe they couldn't compete with more well-known squishy companies. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. New day, new post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about the Super Mushroom from the Mario series. This mushroom is a power-up used to make Mario characters bigger. What originally started out as a regular mushroom has turned into what I think is one of the cutest power-ups. Although it's just a mushroom with eyes, I think it's adorable. It resembles Toads, as well. Despite this, there isn't a known connection between them. Fans think Super Mushrooms may be baby Toads, but as of right now those are only theories. Whether these are baby Toads or just regular mushrooms, I still think they're very cute. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Why do dizzy anime characters have spiral eyes? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! In anime and manga, it's common to see dizzy characters have spiral eyes. This is used to show they're dizzy, confused, or overwhelmed. It shows that their head is spinning, which makes it easier to tell what the character is feeling. It's often used as a joke, but sometimes even in a serious anime you can see this being used. Eyes are very expressive in anime, so it makes sense to see their eyes being used to show how they're feeling. It's just another way to show emotions or physical feelings. Baby Pokemon are pretty well loved, and they're often seen as cute. But they're usually pretty weak, which makes it difficult to keep them as babies. They're often overlooked and forgotten because people focus on evolving Pokemon more than anything else. Not only this, but some baby Pokemon are unpopular because they were added after the rest of the evolution line. It doesn't make sense for a baby Pokemon to be added after the other evolutions, which bothers some fans. All in all, baby Pokemon are either forgotten or just ignored. It's time to post! Recently there's been a joke within the Twisted Wonderland fandom, and it's spreading pretty quickly because of how strange it is. Basically, Genshin Impact released a character named Flins, and he looks exactly like Idia Shroud. There's no way on Earth this was an accident or a coincidence, since Idia has a very unique design and Flins is also heavily associated with blue flames. Not many people have made the connection yet, since Twisted Wonderland is much lesser known than Genshin Impact. But Twisted Wonderland fans think it's really funny that the gamer character is the one who was copied for Genshin Impact. Personally I keep finding merchandise that I think is for Idia, then it turns out to be Flins again instead. It's both funny and frustrating. Obviously Idia was designed long before Flins so it isn't an accident, and Genshin Impact has borrowed from other sources multiple times before. No one is upset by it, so I see no harm in it. New day, new post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about one of the most frustrating things in Fate/Grand Order. A lot of fans have already talked about how disappointing it is when a character is released and it's another girl. However, it's more frustrating when it's a male character mixed with a female. There has been more than one male servant who's technically a female because they're borrowing their body. Not only is this weird and uncomfortable, but it's also just unnecessary. These characters acknowledge that they are men and are referred to as men. So why aren't they just men? There are no women servants inhabiting the body of men. It just feels weird in a somewhat inappropriate way. It's also just stupid, which is something I don't say often on here. But, it is. Why not just make actually male characters? Are the artists that bad at making creative male designs? Because that's what it feels like. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. New day, new post! In the Pokemon world, it's unusual to see dark-type gym leaders, and ghost-type leaders are often avoided because they're seen as creepy. Although fans usually love them, it does explain why they're hardly ever seen. It's very disappointing for a lot of Pokemon fans, since a lot of fans actually really like these gym leaders. Ghost-type leaders are much more common, but I can understand why people would want to see more of both of them. Pokemon is usually very bright and colorful, so seeing this darker side is appealing to older fans, but also to younger fans who don't often see these darker elements in children's media. I think it would be great to see more gym leaders like this in the future, even if it's just as regular characters and not opponents. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. New day, new post! Since I've been playing Fate/Grand Order for a while now, I've been looking around fan spaces to see what people dislike the most about the game. Surprisingly, a lot of people share my opinion. They're sick of all of the girl characters. They don't like the excuses used for making girl characters. Characters who are gender swapped, or combined with a different spirit so they're technically a female, or characters who are "genderless" so they don't have to admit they're a feminine male, have been annoying fans for years. Fans have actually been afraid to hear about new characters because they think they'll just be a woman again. This is really disappointing. Gacha games rely on new characters to keep the attention of fans, but FGO fans are afraid of new characters because they're never accurate. This is especially upsetting for people who have grown up with these stories, only to play the game and see their hero or role model is just a cute little girl now. This frustrated me, but I understand why some players are even more frustrated than I am. I don't understand why the creators don't just focus on famous women if that's what they want instead of raining on everyone's parade. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I don't think this will ever be changed or fixed, but I still wanted to talk about it. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!

It's post time! The blog post for today will be about Smile.DK. Smile.DK is a band that was popular in the early 2000's. Despite being Swedish, they were and still are popular with anime fans. This is because they made quite a few songs based on Japan or containing Japanese lyrics. They're also very well-known for the song Butterfly, which was featured in Dance Dance Revolution. Although they've gradually declined in popularity, their song Butterfly is still really well-known. Currently only one of the members are still performing, but their older songs are still popular with older anime fans. I do recommend their music if you like early 2000's music, and especially if you're an anime fan, since there are quite a few songs by them that are based on Japan. Not only this, but it doesn't really look like the traditional anime art style either. Despite this, I've talked about this game a lot on my blog even though I mainly focus on anime-related things. Even recently I've decided to talk about Cult Of The Lamb because it has a chibi-like art style. So is Animal Crossing anime? Well, in a way, yes. I think it is. Because regardless of the art style, it was still made in Japan. I believe all Japanese games and animated series are considered anime regardless of the art style. Since the term was created for Japanese animation, I like to talk about various things from Japan on this blog to keep the original meaning of the term. This is why I often talk about Animal Crossing despite the fact it doesn't have a traditionally anime art style. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. It's post time! Since I've been playing Cult Of The Lamb for a little while now, I'd like to talk about something that really bothers me in this game. But first, there will be some minor spoilers in this post, so proceed with caution! In this game, you're supposed to get followers for your cult. This makes sense, and it also makes sense that they can get old and pass away. However, they get old way too fast. It's hard to keep up with the near constant loss, especially if you get a lot of them. Not only this, but even special boss followers will get old and die. This is ridiculous. Sometimes bosses are really difficult to beat, so the fact that they're the same as every other follower is extremely disappointing. You can resurrect them later if they die, but it's just so much work. Why do special followers still die? It makes no sense and it's not fair either. This is what frustrates me the most. Every one of the followers can die regardless of how you got them. There are barely any exceptions to this rule. What's the point in getting them if they're all temporary? Regardless, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Obviously at this point this will probably never change, but I still wanted to talk about it anyways. It's post time! For today's blog post, I will be talking about the Fleece Of Fragile Fortitude from Cult Of The Lamb. Although this game isn't exactly anime, I still wanted to talk about this. This fleece is pretty widely hated in the community. However, I actually really like it. For those of you who don't know, the fleeces in this game aren't just for looking nice, they also have bonuses. This one gives you extra hearts when you do the dungeon runs, but it also makes it so you take less damage. Instead of taking a full heart of damage, this fleece makes it so you take half a heart instead. It's amazing! Not only do you get way more health, but you also take less damage. This made the game way more enjoyable for me, since I hate restarting over and over just because I have extremely limited health to work with. The difficulty spike in this game is insane, and I think this fleece makes it more manageable. I don't understand why it's disliked so much, since I think it's really useful. Is it alright to like something if you don't support the creator? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! In the modern day, there has been a very big problem with media being made by awful people. This happens a lot, and it makes it difficult to like things anymore. It feels like people become awful as soon as they gain an audience. So is it still alright to enjoy their creations? Personally I think it's fine. It's important to separate the art from the artist. People can be awful and things like this happen. However, that doesn't mean you have to stop liking the things you like. You don't have to support the creator if you like their creation. Otherwise you'll have a hard time finding anything to enjoy. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!

It's post time! The new update for Animal Crossing New Horizons is a bit over a month away now. However, this game has always had a problem with one thing: custom designs. You can make a lot of things in this game, and people have managed to make stores even though you can't really make houses. Despite this, there are never enough custom design spaces. If you run out of space, you have to delete some of your other designs. This makes it difficult for things that need a lot of spaces. Parking lots, windows, stores, and things like that need quite a few separate design spaces for them to be made correctly. Otherwise it looks odd, which is disappointing. It's hard to be creative when you have a limit to what you can make. Obviously there can't be an unlimited amount of spaces, but there should be a lot more than there is. Regardless, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I don't know if we'll be getting more design spaces in the update, but I wanted to talk about it anyways.
