New day, new post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Star Fragment Trees from Animal Crossing New Horizons. These special trees don't exist within the game today, but they were originally hacked items that made it so star fragments could be put on the trees. This is because the game originally didn't have a specific item list for what could go on trees, so people would hack the trees to hold star fragments instead of bells or fruit. This continued on for a while, until a bunch of players started reporting others for hacking the game. The bug was quickly patched, and the trees were destroyed forever. This is a good example of people ruining it for everyone else, but it also just shows how little the creators of the game cared about the fans. People loved these trees. But instead of making it official in any way, they just got rid of them. It would've been easy to add these trees, since the bug was already there. Instead, they chose not to. It really made a lot of fans angry, and some people even stopped playing altogether. Maybe someday these trees will be officially added to the game. But, I doubt it.
