Why do some anime characters wear capes? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! I think the most well-known cape-wearing character is Umaru-Chan from Himouto Umaru-Chan, and it isn't too unusual to see otaku characters or reclusive characters wearing a cape. This seems weird, but it isn't really. These aren't regular capes, they're wearable nap blankets. These special capes are much softer than regular capes because they're actually secretly blankets. Otaku characters or reclusive characters wear these so they can stay warm while gaming or watching tv. You can actually buy real life blanket capes that look like ones found in anime, and I'm not referring to cosplay ones either.
