Why are anime fans getting tired of seeing girl characters? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! When anime was less popular, attractive girl characters were often used to attract men into the fandom. But as the fandom grew, it gained more diverse fans. There are a lot more straight women and gay men now than there was before, so a lot of people are starting to get sick of seeing women everywhere. A once clever strategy is now driving people away. No matter how many various designs are used for the girls, it'll still alienate at least half of the fanbase. Even non-binary characters often turn out to be biological girls, which can feel like a betrayal to people who thought or hoped it would be a boy. Of course there are series that have mostly boys, but even those usually have a lot of inappropriate scenes; which makes it difficult to enjoy. Although there's usually something for everyone when it comes to anime, sometimes people just want to be able to like the same thing everyone else likes. We shouldn't just have to accept that there will be a lot of inappropriately dressed women jumping all over the screen all the time. I think if this continues, anime will once again go back to being mainly just straight men. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Honestly I don't think this will ever change, but I wanted to talk about it anyways. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!
