Why does Mimikyu's true form terrify people? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! There may be some Pokemon spoilers in this post though, so proceed with caution! Now then, on with the post! So, why is Mimikyu's true form so scary? We currently don't even know what Mimikyu looks like, so it's hard to say why its actual appearance is said to be terrifying. But, it is said to be so terrifying that it overwhelmed the only scholar that ever saw it with shock and killed them. The only glimpses we've seen of Mimikyu's true form so far was in the anime as well, and even then it was only a shadowy figure. Despite this, it still terrified Meowth to the point of fainting. Meowth even died from seeing it in one episode! But what makes it so scary? It is possible that Mimikyu has some sort of uncontrollable power that overwhelms whoever sees it with their worst fear, which would explain why it doesn't happen to people who see it with its disguise on. But then why wouldn't it happen to people who see Mimikyu's eyes? After all, its eyes can still be seen through the disguise. It's probably not because of its actual appearance either, since what we've seen thus far looks like a shadow with eyes. Unless it can change its appearance, that is.
