It's post time! But it's also Tanabata! Tanabata is the Japanese Star Festival, and it occurs each year on July 7th. For this year's special post, I will be talking about the bamboo grass from Animal Crossing New Horizons. For those of you who don't know, tying a small piece of paper (called a Tanzaku) to bamboo is one of the ways to celebrate Tanabata. Writing your wish on the Tanzaku before tying it to the bamboo is supposed to grant your wish, as well. Because of this, the bamboo grass in Animal Crossing is based on this tradition. It is a bamboo grass with many colorful Tanzaku strips tied onto it, and it can be bought as a seasonal item from the Nook Shopping section. It's a cute little festive item that can be used to spruce up your island or home for the holiday. You can even dress your character up in a cute kimono or yukata to help celebrate! As always, I will be including a picture of the bamboo grass below so you all can see it for yourselves. Enjoy! Happy Tanabata!
