New day, new post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Domo-kun. Domo-kun was originally a brown boxy mascot made for the Japanese channel NKH. He was created in 1998 as well, and he has a large open mouth. In the early 2000's, Domo-kun became extremely popular. His simple design made it easy to use him for pictures, memes, and wallpapers for computers and phones. Eventually Domo-kun escaped Japan and became a mascot for the American scene and nerd culture instead. In this context, he's usually seen wearing glasses. It's amazing how a simple Japanese mascot can become so popular for something completely unrelated to what he was created for. Since Domo-kun is starting to become popular again, I decided to talk about him today. As always, I'll be including a picture of Domo-kun below so you all can see what he looks like. Enjoy!
