It's New Year's Eve! So for this year's special post, I'll be listing five anime I started watching this year. Should Light Yagami be considered a villain? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! There will be spoilers though, so proceed with caution! Now then, let's get on with it! I've personally talked about Light's somewhat ambiguous alignment before, but I haven't really talked about if he would be a villain or not. The word villain has become a somewhat caroonishly evil word, but it may still fit. Although he started out wanting to help people, Light turned down a very dark path. He became a serial killer with god-like ambitions, and in the process he lost most of himself and his humanity. It's easy to say the Death Note itself corrupted him, but I don't think that's the case at all. It wasn't the Death Note itself, but rather the power it gave him. There have been other Death Note owners who didn't become so corrupted, so it isn't the notebook's fault. However, I'm sure there are many real humans who would go absolutely mad with power if given this chance. After all, a name on a page is much different than seeing the person themself. But to counter this argument, Light continued killing even after seeing people die right in front of him. He was very aware of what he was doing, but he saw everyone and everything as a means to an end; like it was a sort of game. He didn't care who he used for what, or why he used them. They were all just pawns to him, and he eventually started taking pride in his work and sense of justice. Because of this, I think I can safely say he is a villain. He may have started with good intentions, but in the end that means nothing. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I know there are many fans of Light, and that's fine. But I couldn't imagine living in a twisted world of his creation, where people would be killed for doing even the slightest thing against his will. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!

Why are there no small boy characters in Genshin Impact? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Although this may seem like an odd question, many fans have been wondering about this. With all of the new characters coming out, it's odd we still haven't gotten a little boy yet. This shouldn't be an issue, but we've actually gotten quite a few little girl characters so far. There hasn't even been a single leak indicating we'll get one in the future. So, where are they? It's rather odd we haven't seen anything about it at all. It isn't because a boy wouldn't be popular, because many fans are eagerly looking forward to seeing what one would look like. It also isn't because young boys aren't popular, since many fans also love the young boy characters we already have. It could be because there isn't a small boy model yet, but they could add one. Adding a new model would add quite a bit of variety to the game, even if it doesn't seem like it would. I know there are more girl characters than boy characters, but I find it extremely odd that there are so many small girl characters but not a single small boy character. Small girl characters have actually been being added relatively frequently recently, which makes it even stranger. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. We haven't been given any answers for this so far, and it's unlikely we'll get one anytime soon. I personally am curious to know what a small boy character would look like, since the girls have different models than the NPCs. It's difficult to say if we ever will get one, though. It's time to post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Yoosung from Mystic Messenger. Yoosung is my second favorite Mystic Messenger character, but I hardly ever talk about him because of how much I like 707. So, I decided to talk about Yoosung today. Yoosung is a young, bright boy who is also very gullible. Although the other members treat him like a child, he's actually really close to Seven's age. He's also one of the characters who loves the MC in every route you play. Many people think Seven is the only one who does this, but that isn't true at all. Yoosung is very kind and caring, and he warms up to the MC right away. Many people often think he had a crush on Rika because of his obsession with her, but he really just greatly admired her. Rika inspired Yoosung to be who he is now, so it was devastating when he lost her. Even though Yoosung often compares the MC with Rika, this isn't why he likes the MC. He just admired Rika so much that he feels like having her traits makes someone a better person. However, Yoosung is also very naïve. Since he lived a pretty sheltered life, he doesn't have much experience outside of his school, family, and the RFA. This is why it's always so easy for Seven to trick him. Despite this, he still considers Seven and the other RFA members his close friends. He's very bright and cheerful as well, which is one of the reasons why everyone likes him so much. It's Christmas Eve! So I present to you, Santa hat Pikachu! The Santa hat Pikachu is a special Pikachu that appears during Christmas events in Pokemon Go. Although I'm not sure if this Pikachu has been added this year, there are often other Pokemon that can be found wearing festive attire in the wild. As you all may have guessed, I prefer the Eevees myself. However, the Santa hat Pikachu is the most well-known holiday variation. For those of you who somehow don't know, this is a Pikachu wearing a Santa hat for the holidays. Along with this, there have been many different festive Pokemon over the years. If any of you happen to catch any Pokemon with variations, don't evolve it! The festive clothes will fall off if you do, never to be seen again. What time is it? Post time! It's been rather cold and snowy recently, so I've decided to talk about something else cold: ice. Or rather, the Vocaloid band Ice Mountain. I fooled you all for a moment there, didn't I? I have once again been sucked into the vortex that is Ice Mountain. But to my disappoint, there still isn't very much content for them. Kiyoteru Hiyama might be relatively popular on his own, but content for his band is severely lacking. Since my favorite band member is Natsuki Hokaze, I'm sure others can understand my disappointment. I've found quite a few people who were very excited about an actual Vocaloid band. I mean, Vocaloid characters who exist solely to help with immersion for videos and concerts? That's awesome! If they became popular enough, the other band members may have even gotten voices of their own. But alas, their initial reveal was a flop. Since then, Kiyoteru has only been marketed on his own. No mention of his band at all. If they acquired a bigger fan base, this Vocaloid band could go far. But as of right now, all we have is a few pictures and a handful of songs. Hopefully we'll get more in the future. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post.

It's time for another new post. I've been putting off doing this post for a while, but I suppose I'll talk about it now. Ash and Pikachu are officially leaving the Pokemon anime. Although many fans are glad to see them go, I'm actually rather upset about it. I grew up with the anime, and Ash, Pikachu, and Team Rocket have been the only constants throughout the series. Since the main characters are leaving, there's a good chance Team Rocket will be next. Ash and Pikachu may be leaving because their stories are finished, but I genuinely don't know how the anime will be without them. Everyone else is so excited to see them go, so it feels weird to be one of the only ones actually upset about this news. But, I've known Ash and Pikachu my whole life. Pikachu is the brand's mascot. Without Ash, Pikachu is just another Pokemon. I'm also a huge fan of Team Rocket, and I'm worried they'll have to leave as well. Their stories revolved around Ash and his Pikachu, but no one seems to care about this at all. I'm curious about what they'll do without them, but the anime doesn't really feel like Pokemon without these recognizable characters. Maybe they'll bring them back here and there in the future, but that isn't really the same thing. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post.

It's post time! Today is actually December 21st, which is 12/21. Because of this, I wanted to talk about a neat little thing in a game I grew up with. In Dark Cloud 2, there's a small puzzle given to you by the mayor. In it, you have to give him the correct combination to his safe. The puzzle is actually extraordinarily unremarkable, but it was interesting enough to me that I remembered it today when I noticed the date. This is because the combination to his safe is 1221. The combination to his safe is actually his daughter's birthday, as well. It can be a bit tricky at first, but now almost anyone who plays the game already knows it because of the answers online. I would actually highly recommend playing this game. I prefer Dark Cloud 2 over Dark Cloud, and so many things remind me of it. It has great music, a great story, and it's pretty easy for beginners. It originally came out in 2003 (or in Japan in 2002 with the name Dark Chronicle), but it has since been remastered for newer game systems. Now that I've rambled on for a bit about this kind of old puzzle in a video game, I'll be including a picture from the game below. Enjoy!

Are Razor and Cyno related in Genshin Impact? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Although this may seem like a ridiculous question to ask, many fans have actually been wondering about this. Even though Razor is from Mondstadt and Cyno is from Sumeru, they do share some similarities. They're both electro users, they have similar hair colors, they're both associated with wolf-like animals, and....maybe that's it. I suppose it wouldn't be impossible for there to be a relation between them, but I find it highly unlikely. Razor is only associated with wolves because he was raised by them, and Cyno is associated with Anubis because of his ties with judgement. Not to mention relatives generally don't have the same vision types, as seen with Barbara and Jean. Even hair color doesn't necessarily mean anything, since other characters have the same exact hair color. Although I would love if there was some kind of connection between them, at the moment I think it's all just a coincidence. But those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic, anyways. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!

Would L have been able to live without Watari in Death note? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post. There will be some spoilers though, so proceed with caution. For those of you who don't know, L was found by Watari as a small child. He was a nameless orphan who Watari brought to his orphanage. From that day, Watari took care of him. Even after he became an adult, L was incredibly dependent on Watari. Watari fed him, clothed him, and even invented a human washing machine so L could bathe frequently. Watari treated him like a small child, even after L was grown. Because of this, I think L would've been pretty helpless on his own. As an adult, L only ate sweets, asked Watari for everything, hardly slept, stayed inside most of the time, and didn't even take care of himself. Without Watari, it's hard to say if L would have even survived. Since he lived a highly secluded lifestyle, there wouldn't have even been someone else who could have stepped up to take Watari's place. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. I'm sure there are many L fans saying "I would take care of him!". But you don't count, so sit back down. As far as Death Note lore goes, none of you would have even met him anyways. It's post time once again! For today's blog post, I will be talking about the archons' genders in Genshin Impact. There will be some spoilers though, so proceed with caution. Now that that's out of the way, let's get on with it! For some reason, this topic pops up quite frequently; especially for poor Venti. Although most archons have a set gender that they've always been, that isn't true for all of them. Most archons are not born archons, and they instead rise to power after they've been chosen by Celestia; normally after the previous archon is defeated. Because of this, some of them have forms from before they were archons. This is true for both Barbatos and Morax, who both lacked human forms. Morax was an illuminated beast like the other adepti, and Barbatos was a wind spirit. Zhongli is currently a male archon, but has disguised himself as an older woman in the past. Venti has the appearance of a dear friend he had lost, but he may still have chosen a male form regardless. Or he may have remained genderless. As of now though, his form and status as a bard are because he is honoring his friend. As for the other archons, we've seen nothing to suggest they're anything other than what they currently are; although there's a chance they can shift their shapes if they want to as well. Regardless, I just wanted to talk about this because I've noticed people are still questioning Venti's gender. The archons are what they are, okay? And Venti can be ambiguous if he wants, even if his ambiguity is just because he looks like a young boy. Regardless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!

New day, new post! For todays blog post, I will be talking about Studio Ghibli's newest upcoming film. The new film is currently titled How Do You Live, since it's based on the novel of the same name. However, it's unclear if this title will stay the same for its release. This movie has been in production for a few years now, and it was created by Hayao Miyazaki himself. It's expected to have the same beloved animation style Studio Ghibli movies are known for, and it's set to release in Japan on July 14th, 2023. Although not much is known about the movie so far, it has been an important project for Hayao Miyazaki. It's the movie that brought him back out of retirement, and everyone has been working hard to make this project perfect. It's unknown if this movie will follow its book counterpart closely or not, but knowing Studio Ghibli I'm sure they're planning on adding their own personal flair to it. This project has been long overdo with all of the effort that has been put into it, and I'm sure it will be just as good as previous films released by Studio Ghibli. But as of right now, fans are still eagerly awaiting its arrival. There has been one picture released for it so far, and as always I will be including it below. Enjoy!

Do old Pokemon need new evolutions? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post. With new generations of Pokemon games, there's always new Pokemon. But recently, old Pokemon have also been getting new evolutions. Although I understand that many older Pokemon from previous generations are often very popular, adding anything new to something old can be very tricky. Fans already love the current Pokemon, which is why they're so popular in the first place. Making regional variants for them is different; since the original Pokemon is still there. I will admit the original Pokemon is still there when an evolution is added, but not really in the same way. Along with this, it brings up the question "Where has this evolution been this whole time?". Saying an evolution is only possible in a specific region helps explain this away, but sometimes we aren't even given that. This becomes especially risky when adding a new pre-evolution. This has been done before, and it really doesn't make sense. A Pokemon can't stop being a baby and turn into something else entirely spontaneously. Some of you may say "well maybe they've always evolved from this Pokemon without us knowing". Firstly, that wouldn't really make sense. Why wouldn't we know? Secondly. this also just isn't true. There was a baby Pikachu in the anime before Pichu was created. This piece of evidence has been one of the biggest arguments against us not knowing about a pre-evolution. I'm not saying old Pokemon shouldn't ever get new evolutions or pre-evolutions. Some fans really like when an old Pokemon is given attention. I just personally think it would be a safer decision to make regional or mega evolution variants of the Pokemon instead. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Yaoyao has finally been revealed! For those of you who don't know, Yaoyao is a Genshin Impact character who was revealed quite a while ago in some official artwork. However, she was never put in the game. She was never even talked about in any way after her reveal. Many people assumed this was because she was a dendro character, and dendro hadn't been released yet. But even after dendro was released, there was no sign of Yaoyao. A little later, another picture of Yaoyao was released, but there was still no sign of her official release. But as of a few days ago, she was officially revealed as an upcoming character on Genshin Impact's official accounts. The reveal shows her official character card, and it reveals some important information about her. Fans are very excited to see she's finally been released, especially since fans have been anxiously awaiting her addition for years now. To avoid spoilers, I wont be giving the details about her on here just yet. Instead, I'll be including the link for the official Instagram post below; as well as her official character card. Enjoy!

It's time to post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about my favorite kitsune in anime so far. I won't say he's my favorite kitsune in general, since I haven't seen many anime with kitsune yet. But as of right now, my favorite is....(drumroll please) Kyubi from Yokai Watch! Ta da! Kyubi is pretty funny in general, and I really like how he's portrayed in the series. However, I don't like the crush he had on Katie in the show. He was clearly much older than her and it was kind of creepy. But other than that, he's a really good character. His transformation powers are handled really well, and he works well in both comedic and serious scenarios. I also really like his design. His normal fox form is incredibly pretty, and it fits well with the kitsune mentioned in folklore. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. It is my opinion, after all. 3, 2, 1, post time! Today's blog post will be about Topcraft. Topcraft was a Japanese animation studio that disbanded in 1985. However, this studio laid out the foundations for Studio Ghibli. Before it disbanded, they worked with Rankin/Bass to make things like the animated Hobbit, The Last Unicorn, and Thundercats (under the name Pacific Animation Corporation). This studio actually had quite a few projects to its name. But it eventually disbanded after becoming bankrupt. After it was disbanded, many animators went on to create Studio Ghibli. Some animators also went to work for other studios like Studio Pierrot. Along with this, one very well-known movie was created under studio Topcraft's name. Although it's known as a Studio Ghibli movie now, Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind was originally created before this studio disbanded. Topcraft is hardly known now, but without it we wouldn't have many of the amazing anime movies and shows we have now. It's really incredible how much of a difference one thing can make. What time is it? Post time! The blog post for today will be a Meowscarada appreciation post. When the new Pokemon Meowscarada was revealed, many fans were upset to find it was another bipedal human-like Pokemon. But not I! No! I was actually pretty impressed with its design. Meowscarada was bound to be another bipedal evolution, but it actually turned out really well. It also turned out to be a grass/dark-type Pokemon, and dark-types are some of my favorite Pokemon. Sprigatito was already my favorite new starter, and I was pretty worried when the leaks said it would be yet another waifu Pokemon. But I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was actually pretty gender-neutral. There are already so many pretty or buff Pokemon that it was refreshing to see it wasn't wearing a fur dress or fur socks this time. It's honestly kind of weird that that's even a thing, but that's a different conversation. I'm sure there are other people who also like Meowscarada, but I still wanted to do a little appreciation post for it. As always, I will be including a picture of Meowscarada below. Enjoy!

 

It's post time! Today's blog post will be about the newest Genshin Impact update. Not much has been released for the new update yet, but the banners for Arataki Itto and the Wanderer are out now. The new Genius Invocation TCG card game is available now as well, and it finally allows the players access to the Cat's Tail Tavern in Mondstadt. The newest story quest is available now too, and more events are on their way. Since this update marks the official release of Scaramouche as a playable character, the new story quest also features him. Many fans were surprised to find out his element would be anemo, but it seems to fit him pretty well. If you're interested in any of the banner characters but you're still unsure about if you want them, the trial run is available as always this update. Trying out Itto and Wanderer will reward you with 20 primogems each regardless. With the new quests and events will also come more primogems, so you all should have some time to build up for whatever characters you may want. As always, I hope you all enjoyed this blog post! Is Xiao emotionless in Genshin Impact? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post. There may be some spoilers, though. So proceed with caution. For most people, Xiao seems very cold and uncaring. It seems like there are few things to suggest otherwise. However, there have actually been quite a few things to suggest otherwise. If you have Xiao, his voice lines make it clear that he cares for the traveler. He has also saved the traveler more than once during story quests. Aside from the traveler, he has shown a bit of care for the other adepti, and he also goes out of his way to help humans and ghosts. So why does he seem so uncaring? Well, it's actually for a few reasons. First of all, adepti are usually very formal creatures. The ones who are more casual are often part human, or they have lived with humans for a long time. Xiao has lost many companions in the past as well, which would make it difficult for him to make new connections. Finally, Xiao is plagued with his karmic burden. The corruption not only affects him, but also those around him. This means he has to keep his distance for their own safety. This is actually the main reason Xiao is very distant. Not only is he not familiar with other people, but it's dangerous for others too. I know I've talked about Xiao and his personality a few times already, but it's just because I've seen so many people see him as a cold loner when that isn't the case at all. Regardless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post.

Can all adepti shape-shift in Genshin Impact? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! For those of you who don't know, adepti can often shift from animal forms to human forms. This can be seen with Xiao and Ganyu, who are usually human-like but also have adepti forms. However, there are also quite a few who have not changed their shape. Cloud Retainer, Mountain Shaper, and Moon Carver are all always in their animal adepti forms; and Madame Ping is also always an elderly woman. Although it's implied that all adepti can change their shapes, we actually haven't gotten any concrete evidence for this. Aside from Zhongli (who is an archon), we haven't seen any of the adepti look different than they normally do. Outside of the game, there's also been confirmation that Xiao and Ganyu can change. Even when we got a character who was assumed to be Cloud Retainer, it turned out she was someone else who simply resembled her. Because of this, it's difficult to say if the other adepti really can change. Until it actually happens, there's nothing to say they can. Although there also isn't anything saying they can't, fans shouldn't look forward to any of the current adepti getting different forms. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Should Ash Ketchum finally grow up in Pokemon? Well, that's what I'll be talking about in today's blog post! Although Ash has been around for a very long time now, he's still the same age he's always been. This is much different from other long-running series that almost always age up their characters. This has been seen with Naruto, Dragon Ball, and even Yu-Gi-Oh in later years. Despite this, Ash has never aged a day. He's even had a few birthdays, but none have been permanent. Part of the fun of watching an anime for a long time is watching the characters grow with you. But Ash hasn't grown at all, which makes watching the new seasons as an adult feel odd. I know the show was originally created for kids, but those kids have long since grown up. This makes being an original fan of the series a bit difficult. None of the content has grown with us, which makes it difficult to relate to. But, these are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. It's hard to say if anything Pokemon related will ever change.
