It's post time! Recently there's been a few new games that use an art style similar to Studio Ghibli movies. A lot of people are inspired by Studio Ghibli, and using a similar art style can help something feel familiar and cozy. However, it's important to remember this only works if something is done well. If you just use the art style and don't add enough care to the story or world building, it really only shows you can draw well and that's it. I haven't seen any examples of this yet, so far it seems like games that use an art style similar to Studio Ghibli are well made. But I still wanted to talk about this, because there's a good chance lazy creators will use this art style for cheap cash grabs. A lot of work is put into Studio Ghibli movies, and they're so popular that using the art style automatically draws fans in. So remember, a game or animation is more than just its art style, even if it looks nice. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic. Nonetheless, I hope you all still enjoyed this blog post!
