It's time to post! For today's blog post, I will be talking about Ditto's face in Pokemon. In Pokemon games and merchandise, it's common to see Ditto fully transformed except for its face. However, Pokemon fans hate this. Why is this? Well, it's because not all Ditto are like this. According to the lore, well trained Ditto can fully transform. They can perfectly copy anything, which is why it's called a Ditto. There was only one Ditto in the Pokemon anime that couldn't transform correctly. It could copy anything, but it couldn't change its face. This was a one off problem, which many people see as a disability. Because of this, it feels very wrong and cheap to turn one disabled Ditto into a joke. I know it makes it easy to tell what is and isn't a Ditto, but it's wrong. It isn't accurate, and it's making light of a Pokemon that faced a lot of challenges in the episode it was in. Casual fans may say "it's just a Pokemon, who cares". But the problem is the real world problem of disabilities being treated like a joke. That's why people don't like this. It makes people uncomfortable, and there are quite a few fans who don't like Ditto being used in this way. But, those are mostly just my thoughts on this topic.
